A Coop member recently wrote to us asking where she could drop off compostable kitchen waste. Most Coop members know that the Coop brings its spoiled produce to the Garden of Union, and has been doing so for many years. What you may not realize is that the Coop has actually outgrown the compost capacity of the Garden of Union and now donates its compostables to two other locations as well.
The Garden of Union, on Union Street near 4th Ave, has public hours spring through fall, and anyone can bring compost to the garden during those times. Please check their web site for public hours, or for information on how to become a garden member: http://www.gardenofunion.org/index2.html
